When you're ready to explore further, head towards Bude and the wild North Cornwall coast.
Take a walk along the sand at Widemouth Bay, beachcombing as you go, explore the rugged coastline around Crackington Haven or spend a day in Bude, where beaches, the canal and coastal walks mean families have plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors.
With summer out of the way, autumn brings with it the chance to have a little more space to yourselves, but it certaintly doesn't mean beach days are over. The sea can still be quite warm during October so make sure you pack your flip-flops as well as your wellies, the Cornish weather does like to keep everyone on their toes.
